Take a drive in the country and wander through a bright green “glen” of woodland canopies and farmland. Just off this little red road, on the eastern end, there is a large American elm believed to be the largest tree on Prince Edward Island. It is reputed to be so big that two people cannot reach each other’s hands around the base. The Glenn Scenic Heritage Road is northeast of Souris on Rte. 303 on a rich, red clay passage that runs west from the Baltic Road (Rte. 302), through Glencorradale or “The Glen,” as it is known locally.

Once a prosperous farming community with a mill and two blacksmith shops, today a shingle mill and farming continue. Fine horses and driving wagons were status symbols the residents proudly displayed along the route. Some believe magical little folk live here!
