Two Tellers & Tunes

July 29 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

They’re baaack!

Well…..two of them are back, at any rate. After a  six year absence from the King’s Playhouse stage, two of the infamous “Four Tellers” are all set to bring you a summer of stories and songs, right back where it all began.

Gary Evans and Alan Buchanan, along with a cast of superb Island musicians have put together a brand-new show to grace the stage of the Playhouse this summer. The show, called “Two Tellers & Tunes,” will play every Monday night at 7:30 pm, starting on July 8th and running until September 30th.

“It’s going to be a great show,” assures Evans. “Since there’s only half of us, we have to be twice as good”.

“Yeah, we tried to get the other two involved,” adds Buchanan. “David wants to take a break from performing to concentrate on writing, and apparently, Dennis is busy with something else.”

But Alan and Gary will be there every week with the full array of characters and stories that have come to define their brand of entertainment as “the real Island deal.”

“We’re so excited to have these guys back for the summer,” says Kings Playhouse Executive Director, John Connolly. “Gary and Alan are carrying on an art form that is quickly dying on PEI. At one time, storytelling was the heart and soul of local culture on PEI. The storyteller and the fiddler were as essential to a community as the clergy and the doctor.”

And audiences at the summer show will be treated to both storytellers and fiddlers. Joining Alan and Gary on stage are well- known Island singer-songwriters Norman Stewart and Maxine MacLennan, along with renowned fiddler Courtney Hogan Chandler, as well as occasional guest musicians.

It promises to be a wonderful show, filled with laughs, memories, and rollicking tunes, so don’t miss this authentic Island experience. Tickets are available by calling 902-652-2053, at kingsplayhouse.com or at the door one hour before showtime.
