ITS GOING TO BE A LONG ONE SO GET YOUR CUP OF TEA!
It’s going to be a BOOtiful Day at the October 12th Murray Harbour Farmers Market! Here’s what’s going to be happening ….we are over the moon (insert howl noise here)!
PUMPKIN CARVING
It’s time to get those carving utensils out and the find the appropriate vegetable to turn into a work of art…..you guessed it, it’s the annual Murray Harbour Farmers Market’s Pumpkin Contest!
Drop your carved pumpkin off at the Community Centre on October 12th before 8:45AM and then tell all your friends and neighbours to drop by and vote for your or what they think is the best Jack O Lantern for 2024! There will be a 0 to 6 age category, a 6 to 13 years of age category, a 13 to 60 years of age category and a senior category. Sorry only amateur carvers are eligible for the prizes!
For 2024, we will be hosting a celebrity category so who knows will have an entry but the pumpkins will be numbered with the winners name being announced after all the votes have been tallied!
Drop by to pick up your jack o lantern at noon after the Market so you can display them at home but the winning pumpkins will be displayed in the front window of Butlers for a day or two.
The names of the winners of the “2024 Photo Contest” will be announced at the October 12th Market as well and hopefully the canvas prints of the winners photos will be available to be presented to them!
Are you tired yet? Costumes are encouraged for you and the little ones AND the Murray Harbour Public Library will be hosting some fun crafts beginning at 10AM in the Library with our amazing librarian Sue Gardiner at the helm. Who knows there may be some games so it couldn’t get any funner (Funner has been in use as a form of the adjective fun for more than a century – that’s for you Sue!)
Wait! Wait! Treats may appear for the young and not so young created by the incredible Miss Lily but that’s a surprise!
So circle October 12th on your calendar, gas up the car, dust off your costume, find that perfect pumpkin for carving, call all your friends and family AND come by the Murray Harbour Farmers Market for a SPOOKtacular morning!
