Commemorates the traditional cemetery of Acadians who settled in the early 1740s.  Forty-eight people (six families) were recorded in Sieur De La Roque's 1752 census. Some escaped deportation and the hamlet continued to grow through the late 1700s. Archaeological evidence of homesteads and dyked marshes offer a faint glimpse of early Fortune.
