Your Mother’s Dishes was born during a time where Art Therapy was an essential part of my mental well being.
Creating Mosaic Art using plates, cups, bone china and whatever I find while thrifting is not only an excellent way to upcycle material destined for the landfill, it also brings me immense pleasure to create something so beautiful from items that have historic value and were once so personal.
My work tends to be nature inspired, and you can find me working in my little Art Shed at home on our hobby farm.
Commissions are welcome, with my china or yours, created in the off season.

While foraging for nectar and pollen, our bees provide a necessary service: POLLINATION. It is fascinating to watch these tiny creatures work, communicate and nurture and how these unsung heroes’ labours sustain the food chain that supports global food security, ecosystem stability and human life.

JoBees honeybees provide an incredibly clear, light and sweet honey – directly from the hive, filtered, to jars for your enjoyment.

JoBees is starting a new line of Shoe/Boot leather care using beeswax from my hives.

We do not use any pesticides or inorganic fertilizers for our crops nor do we use any “chemical” preservatives in any of our products.
In addition to tomatoes, cucumber etc., we grow pumpkins and other squashes (pumpkins used as a natural thickening agent in our hot sauces). These are available for picking in the fall.

Our drop in, open studio is popular with every age and skill level and is entirely self-directed; we offer this in addition to classes, workshops, day camps, parties, and other special events.

Our studio is for everyone, whether you are a seasoned artist, just starting out, or you feel pretty uncomfy with making things — but you want to, anyway.

This is the perfect space for locals and tourists, especially if you need a break from the sun and sand. We’re air conditioned, boast the best playlists, and our coffee and tea is complementary for adults! Children under 14 must be supervised at all times.

Fleece and Harmony, located in Belfast, produces truly local yarns. Our wool is sourced from local farms on the Island. Year-round at Bailey Studio Gallery, renowned resident artist, and artist mentor, Kathy Marlene Bailey teaches Renaissance methods in small PEI destination workshops and across the continent in online Zoom classes. As tiny amounts of paint in transparent glazes emerge from the brush, it is absolutely fascinating to see a glaze oil painting instantly morphs into greater luminosity! As the glaze is modified, it gets even more amazing as it transforms into the feeling of depth!

The Maroon Pig Art Gallery & Sweet Shop is a small batch bakery/sweet shop and art gallery. In this unique destination location and neighbourhood place, experience an exceptional collection of original art, coupled with exquisite hand-baked items including: artisan breads, candies, cupcakes, sticky buns, squares and more. Everything is made from scratch and we source local, fresh ingredients wherever possible.  Daily noon time specials. Open Wednesday to Saturday.

During early April – end of October they operate a Sunflower Trail, which is beautiful and indended for family photo opporunities.

In September-October they operate a massive Maize Quest Corn Maze which is full of scavenger hunt type activities, great for the entire family. The Corn Maze can take up to 1.5 hours to complete. They also have a Mini Maze for the smaller children.

Come Halloween Season they operate a Halloween Trail which is the scariest destination east of Charlottetown for the thrill seekers.

During regular business hours 10am-6pm daily, they are full of local vegtables that have come straight off the farm and directly to their Market. They also have a wide variety of pumpkins and seasonal fall decor items.

Open primarily July and August, Monday – Saturday. Hours may vary.

Artisans Waterfront is a cooperative made up of juried artists and artisans from PEI. Our high quality, handcrafted items include Felting, Fused Glass, Handmade Paper, Hooked Rugs, Jewellery, Knitting, Paintings,  Photographs, Pottery, Preserves, Prints, Quilts, Silk Paintings, Soap, Weaving, Woodworking, and more.

Prince Edward Island Artisan Peter Llewellyn , a sixth generation Prince Edward Islander, blends fine silver and copper with Seaglass found on Island shores and stones like Turquoise, Jade, Jasper, Black Agate and Amethyst to make one of a kind pieces of Jewelry Peter also carves three dimensional and engraved carving using signature Island sandstone, soapstone, and South American serpentine in his creations.

No visit to Prince Edward Island is complete without a visit to Peter’s family friendly studio, it is definitely a highlight and one of the top things to do while on the island.

The Shoreline Design Studio was featured in the book “Prince Edward Island Book of Musts–The 101 Places Every Islander Must See” by Erin J. Moore. The July 2007 issue of Lifestyle Magazine also highlighted Peter’s Seaglass jewelry as “One of the top 10 must have souvenirs in the Maritimes.” Peter was also featured in a Saltscapes Magazine and Ocean TV in Germany.

The Shoreline Design Studio is located at 40 Water Street, Georgetown, PEI. You can also see Peter’s work featured at The Craft Shop–along with other artists–a few doors down at the corner of Kent and Water streets. Peter’s remarkable carvings and sea glass jewelry are offered for sale at both locations.
