The red sand beach is ideal for swimming at high tide, digging clams at low tide or walking along the shoreline at any time. It is a day use park with playground equipment, beach, bathroom facilities, boat ramp, wharf, and picnic area. It is adjacent the Wood Islands Lighthouse and NFL ferry terminal.
