The marina is the town's centerpiece and is nestled in rolling hills of the riverbank. From the top of the hills on either side... you'll have a view! Fishing and pleasure boats tie up in the wide lazy river. A gazebo on its bank often hosts open-air concerts. A former train station now hosts a community visitor information centre. Take a water cruise to view seals and birds in their natural habitat. Entry point to cycle and walk Confederation Trail. On the upper reaches of the banks, the old customs house, now the Garden of the Gulf Museum, stately stands giving the river a sense of place. Montague wharf on the opposite side of the river is home to several fishing boats.
The busy site hosts many community functions, thanks to its extensive green space. Multi-berth marina with floating beths, water, showers, restaurants, ice cream. The Montague River is a Canadian Heritage River, designated in 2004.
