Families won't be lining up along Souris's Main Street this year to wait for Santa Claus's appearance in the Town’s 41st annual parade on Dec. 4, 2021 2pm-4pm. Instead they'll be the ones doing the driving to see Saint Nick as he sits waiting for them on his float. In what is being called a reverse parade, floats will be stationary along Longworth Street and into the SRS parking lot and parade-goers will drive through to view them. The organizing committee has been trying to decide for some time how the parade could still go ahead not knowing the Covid situation this fall. It was decided the best way to protect people and let them stay in their bubbles is to hold a stationary parade once again this year. The public will come to us and drive through the parade this year and get to see all of the floats and the business displays and, you know, keep the tradition alive." The parade will begin at 2 p.m., as it has in the past number of years. The floats will remain along the street until 4 p.m. This year we will be asking businesses to get involved. Since the parade is stationary, you can set up a kiosk to help promote your business. Get creative in how you can share with the folks driving by. Last year we had a couple use a shovel to pass out candy. The street & parking lot has room for 45 floats.
