A Taste of Epekwitk a culinary cultural experience will take place at Abegweit First Nation on Friday October 13. A Mi’kmaw Elder/or the Chief will host the event, discussing the significance of food and historical teachings. This event will feature a traditional three course meal prepared by an Indigenous Chef, featuring culinary items that date back centuries for Mi’kmaw people, namely seafood such as lobster, shellfish, finfish (salmon, trout, halibut) and eel. It will have storytellers and performers from the community sharing Indigenous knowledge, songs and drumming.
