Frank Ledwell Festival 2018
The Frank Ledwell Festival is a three day festival paying tribute to the late Frank Ledwell, former poet laureate of Prince Edward Island, prolific writer and cherished son of St. Peter’s Bay.
August 10 – 12
Inspired by Frank Ledwell’s poetry, artist Susan Christensen will be creating a new work at the St. Peter’s Courthouse Theatre during the 9th Annual Frank Ledwell Festival. Over the past years Susan has created original paintings based on his work, as part of the Frank Ledwell Literacy Project. The Frank Ledwell Literacy Legacy Show, works by Susan Christensen based on the poems of Frank Ledwell will be available for viewing during the three day Festival. Opens Friday August 10th. Hours to be announced shortly.
As part of the Frank Ledwell Festival on Saturday August 11, Frank’s daughter Jane Ledwell (author of poetry books (Last Tomato and Bird Calls) will lean an afternoon writing workshop at the St. Peter’s Courthouse Theatre from 1 pm to 4 pm, doors will be open to the general public for a poets’ circle. All are welcome to hear participants read from their new creations and their previous works.

Patrick Ledwell: Patricks quick-witted comedy has brought him national recognition with multiple appearances on CBC Radio’s “The Debaters.” Patrick has performed at the Halifax Comedy Festival and the Moncton Hubcap Comedy Festival. His first book “I Am an Islander” was published in the spring of 2012
Mark Haines: Mark’s musical career spans forty years and counting. Mark is a multi-instrumentalist and enjoys a roots approach to all his music. he is a consummate musician, a gifted entertainer and a successful educator.
